While the Babyzen YOYO2 is perhaps the most popular lightweight travel stroller, there are other options like the Nuna TRVL, the Cybex Libelle and more. A compact stroller is key for transporting your infant or toddler through airports or on vacation, especially one that doesn’t add much weight and bulk to your luggage.
In this article, we’ve included strollers that weigh no more than 14.4 pounds (6.5 kg). Each of these six light strollers, including the 13.6-pound Nuna TRVL stroller, is an easy-fold stroller. Most are also compact enough to easily fit in overhead luggage compartments.
For strollers that weigh less than 13 lbs (really!), read through Find the best light travel stroller for your family – Part 1.

Best light travel stroller in Latin America
Carestino SMART
Babyzen YOYO2, you’ve got some competition! Available in Latin America, Carestino SMART has some great features to put it in the running for the best compact stroller for traveling families. In addition, it weighs only 13.2 pounds (6 kg), taking the crown as the lightest among this round of easy-fold strollers.
- Effortless one-handed fold
- Telescopic handle for easy wheeling when folded
- Suitable for newborns through toddlers
Bébé Voyage co-founder Marianne Perez-Fransius has observed moms with the Carestino SMART in action. Perez-Fransius says, “I was impressed how a mom traveling by herself was able to fold it easily at the gate while holding her 9-month-old baby and then effortlessly board the plane with her diaper bag, baby, and stroller.”

Nuna TRVL stroller
With your child in a Nuna TRVL stroller, maneuvering in a crowded or narrow space is effortless with the one-handed steering and one-touch, rear-wheel braking systems. Conversely, when you take your child out of the Nuna TRVL, watch the stroller fold itself into a super-compact, free-standing package, at the touch of a button on the push bar. Plus, with PIPA infant car seat compatibility, the Nuna TRVL is suitable for use from your baby’s birth until they grow up to a 50-pound toddler.
- Self-folds to fit in hands-free carry bag
- One-hand drive and multi-position recline
- UPF 50+ canopy with multiple windows

Babyzen YOYO2
Fans of Babyzen among our Club Bébé Voyage members still own their durable original YOYO, one of the lightest and most compact strollers around. Recently upgraded, an improved frame, harness, and suspension take the Babyzen YOYO2 a step further than YOYO, which many traveling families swear by. Additionally, all fabrics of the Babyzen YOYO2 are washable. The backrest recline accommodates multiple positions.
- One-hand drive
- Shoulder strap for carrying
- Waterproof UPF 50+ UV fabric
CYBEX Libelle
Your child can enjoy the ride in a CYBEX Libelle light travel stroller equipped with integrated leg rest, extendable, extra large, UPF 50+ sun canopy, front-wheel suspension, and near-flat recline function. In addition, you’ll love the Libelle’s portability and car seat compatibility.
- Easily folds into a self-standing package
- Fits in overhead bins or under train seats
- Compatible with CYBEX infant car seats

Peg Perego Selfie
With the ball-bearing shock absorbers, machine washable fabrics and height-adjustable handles, a Peg Perego Selfie stroller will keep both you and your child comfortable. An easy-fold stroller, the Selfie is easily collapsible into an upright, compact fold.
- One-handed steering and fold
- Car seat compatibility
- UPF 50+ canopy with peek-a-boo window
Besrey
Lastly, here’s a lesser-known stroller built both for the baby’s comfort and parent’s ease of use. The seat pad of a Besrey stroller is made of skin-friendly and waterproof premium fabric. Shock-absorbing wheels come with a one-touch rear brake. And you can fold a Besrey with one free hand, while you carry or hold your baby in another hand.
- Gravity quick-folding mechanism
- Waterproof and UV-resistant full-size canopy
- Carry bag included

Among many fans of the Besrey stroller, at least two of the Club Bébé Voyage members would even choose it over better-known stroller brands.
Beth Sporer’s favorite stroller is the “Besrey. Super easy to open, very light, and fits in an overhead.”
Similarly, Kelsey Fox says, “I own a Babyzen YOYO2. My favorite is the Besrey.”
In conclusion, you shouldn’t have to choose between a lightweight travel stroller and a full-featured, easy-fold stroller, even when deciding on one that suits your family’s needs and budget. The light strollers mentioned above still come with some of the same important features found in heavier and less compact strollers.
