Celebrating Christmas in London is the perfect way to spend the winter holiday with the kids. There is no shortage of Christmas events to keep their interest. From gorgeous Christmas lights to an amusement park, each will clamor for their attention. Here are some fun Christmas things to do in London.

 

Winter Wonderland Hyde Park

Hyde Park is well known as a cultural landmark in London, and amongst its mythos is its Winter Wonderland Hyde Park celebration. Not beholden by tradition, this London Christmas market is more akin to a theme park. Ride the Ferris wheel and kid-friendly roller coasters amidst Christmas lights for a truly unique experience. The Santa Land section keeps the focus on the holidays, with its festive Santa Land Train ride that takes you through the Christmas-themed venue. And for tired parents and kids, you can recharge in Santa Land’s Chill Space, which has facilities to warm up bottles or baby food in a pinch. Tickets Off Peak are £5.00, 2 year olds and under enter for free. Tickets Peak are £7.50, 2 year olds and under enter for free.

Christmas in London at Kew

The Kew Gardens are worth a trip in their own right, with their spacious grounds and beautiful scenery. Throw Christmas lights into the mix and you’ve got something really special. Christmas at Kew is an annual celebration where the Kew Gardens are decked out in festive Christmas lights. Your little ones will appreciate the open space and eye-catching displays. Seeing the Christmas tree lights against the backdrop of the park is a sight that the whole family will enjoy. Tickets Off Peak are £21.50. Tickets Peak are £28.00.

 

Christmas Lights Bus Tour

London’s public transit makes exploration a breeze, and a quick way to see the sights is via a Bus tour. The Christmas Lights Bus Tour allows you to see the city decorated in holiday street lights. This roughly 90-minute tour takes you around some of London’s most famous landmarks, like the Tower of London and Piccadilly Circus, along with the famous Regent Street Christmas lights. Take in the warm glow of London’s Christmas decor with your toddler as a tour guide provides fun facts about the city. Tickets are £24 for adults and £13 for children. 2 years olds and under enter for free.

Leicester Square Christmas Market

Celebrate Christmas in London with a visit to a traditional, European Christmas market. Located in Leicester Square, this special Christmas Market boasts a variety of festive food and souvenir stalls, not to mention their Christmas shows. Take the littles to “Baby Loves Disco”, a family-friendly dance and music event. Your toddlers will be entertained by all the bubbles and balloons! Tickets for the “Baby Loves Disco” event are £12.50, Concessions are £11.00.
