Crawligator

Author: Johnna Varty

Bébé Voyage Rating: 6/10

I love the concept of the Crawligator, but it didn’t work as anticipated for our baby. He is 8 months old and able to army crawl on his belly, but not up on his hands and knees yet. I thought the Crawligator would get him to that point, but after repeated attempts he still just kicks his legs around when he’s on it and eventually rolls off. I believe this product would be beneficial for babies who had developmental delays or challenges, but I don’t see a huge need for the average baby. It really doesn’t seem like a necessary product to me.

What bébé loved (or not)

He didn’t mind being put on the Crawligator. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. He would laugh and kick his legs like a fish.

What mommy loved (or not)

We still haven’t gotten him to be able to move himself on it. We push him, try to get him to put his knees down so he can push himself, but he just keeps kicking like a fish.

Is the product easy to use/convenient?

The Crawligator was very easy to use – take it out of the box and it’s ready to go!

Does the product resolve a current pain point and if so how well?

It didn’t help with learning to crawl, as I anticipated it would. I knew it wouldn’t be an instant thing, but after trying it over and over I felt he’d eventually get it. He would kick around for a while and eventually flop himself off of it when he got tired of laying on it.

How safe is the product?

I would say this is a very safe product. It’s low to the gound, so if a baby rolled off (like mine did eventually) they would only be a few inches off the ground. The only precaution would be to make sure all access to stairs was blocked off, so they don’t roll down.

Do you like the way the product is designed?

The design is nice. It’s attractive and sleek looking. It is a little bit awkward to store, because of the size.

Value for money

Personally wouldn’t purchase this product for the cost. I do think it would be valuable for a baby who had some developmental challenges and needed to build strength. I believe the cost is a little high for the average family to purchase.
