Insole Court
Location: Insole Court, Fairwater Road, Llandaff, Cardiff CF5 2LN (Wales)
Discovered by: Laura, a mum to two kids, is always out looking for new places to discover in the city. That’s exactly what she was doing when she stumbled upon Insole Court! They had driven past many times but have never gone down the long drive that leads you to this Manor house, just a short walk from Llandaff in Cardiff, that is Insole Court.
Why We Love It: Insole Court has recently been brought back to life from being a derelict manor building to a community hub that has beautiful gardens to explore, a tea room and weekly events such as Yoga. Various community classes and activities are available at The Stable Yard. Many people, however, still don’t know about this little haven in the city!
Why It’s Kid-Friendly: The gardens onsite are a great place for kids to explore and connect with nature; they’re perfect for walking the dog along too, family picnics, or just admiring the flowers. Check out the kid-friendly classes they offer (think baby massage, kids cooking workshops and preschool ballet).
Tips & Important Details: It’s quite stroller friendly, and be sure to bring Wellies to play in the gardens! There is free parking onsite.

Kids are always hungry! Know anywhere to eat nearby?: The Potting Shed tea rooms at Insole Court celebrate good, ethical and home-made food. Cafe hours are 8:30-5 Monday through Friday and 10-5 on weekends. Open 7 days a week, you can try a delicious light brunch or lunch with plenty of baked goods.
